School adds extra security

School officials say they are beefing up security in the wake of several incidents that occurred on or near campus last week.
The school this week increased the number of private security guards on campus, according to the Office of the Vice Chancellor of Administrative Services.
In one incident a woman was assaulted on campus. The next day another woman was assaulted by a man as she walked by a bus stop on Dillingham Boulevard. Police made an arrest in the second case, but were looking for a suspect in the first assault.
Officials say suspicious individuals, unattended bags, or anything else that doesn’t seem right, should be reported to campus security at 284-1270. Escort Security Services are also available for faculty, staff and students by contacting campus security.
