Trash to Treasure Contest

The Honolulu CC Sustainability Showcase Subcommittee is hosting the 2021 Trash to Treasure Earth Day Contest! This time around, it will be done virtually. The Trash to Treasure Contest works towards reducing waste that goes into the garbage or dump by encouraging students, faculty, and staff to take any waste they can find and create something of practical utility or aesthetic value from it.

The contest is open to all Honolulu CC students, faculty, and staff. All projects summitted must be made out of roughly 80% of reused or repurposed materials. Once you finish, take a picture or video of your sustainable project and fill out the Google Form by the deadline, April 22, 2021. All entry photos will be uploaded into a Padlet shared with the campus community and individuals will be able to vote by liking the posts. Voting will open on April 26-30, 2021 with the top 3 winners announced afterward.
