Fire recovery continues

The University of Hawai‘i says it is still working to recovery of full functions and services after a Feb. 12, fire that destroyed a building containing much of the system’s Financial Management Office.
In a press release Monday, officials said that although fiscal and accounting information was stored or exists electronically in off-site secured servers, much of the paperwork associated with in-process transactions was lost or damaged beyond use by fire, smoke or water. All paperwork recovered from the fire have been under the constant supervision of UH campus security staff, officials said.
A total of 57 employees were displaced from the burned portable building and neighboring offices damaged by smoke and water. They have all been temporarily relocated among a total of 14 sites throughout the UH System offices,
