English 100 goes back to the māla

Language Arts asst. professor Conred Maddox recently took his English 100 class to Honolulu CC’s on-campus garden Ka Māla o Niuhelewai.
The students got to hear the history of the area and the garden, then got a chance to help plant taro there.
They’ll be writing about the experience later in the semester.
