Used dirty syringes have been found throughout the years by canoe paddlers. Two years ago, canoe paddler, Gino Dayton said that one of his own canoe paddlers stepped on a bloody syringe and was rushed to the E.R. Thankfully, she didn’t contract anything.
Dayton also said that last Monday a needle was on the shoreline and that his 1 year old almost picked it up. Officials from the Department of Health are looking further into this issue.
