COVID-19 issues after election

The United States reported over 91,000 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, the nation’s second highest daily total, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University. More than 20 states have announced more new COVID-19 cases in the past week than in any other seven-day period, with states like Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania — three states that play a major role in the presidential contest — setting single-day records on Tuesday.

Health experts have advised caution and urged American voters to wear mask properly and practice social distancing and hygiene to lower the risk of spreading COVID-19. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has recommended isolating immediately for fear of exposure during the election.
