HonCC student is given an Phi Theta Kappa international award

Last week, the annual Phi Theta Kappa International Convention in Dallas, Texas was cancelled and replaced by a virtual live-stream event.
The event honored HonCC student Kainani Wills with the Distinguished Chapter Officer Award. Wills nomination was written by HonCC student Anya Batoon and a chapter advisor.
The HonCC Alpha Kappa lots Chapter was founded in 1985. This is the second time in HonCC Alpha Kappa history that a HonCC student has been recognized with an international individual award.
Mahalo to Kathy Ballesteros, Greg Kashigi and our HonCC Hawaiian Studies Program for seeking out financial support from Alu Like to send Kainani  to the June 2019 PTK International Honors Institute at San Diego State University.
As a Native Hawaiian student and mother of two children, Kainani represents the best and the brightest of Honolulu CC.  Congratulations to Kainani Wills.
