Honolulu CC commencement ceremonies will be held at 6 p.m. May 10, at the Waikiki Shell.
Cap, gowns, and tassels can be bought in the Honolulu CC Bookstore for the approximate price of $42. For students who are not able to buy a cap and gown due to financial issues, a cap and gown may be borrowed by emailing and explaining the situation.
Caps may be decorated and submitted (one per graduate) in the cap decorating contest held on the day of the ceremony, but the graduate must be at the graduation rehearsal prior to the commencement in order to take part in the contest. Graduates without a cap and gown, however, will not be able to participate in the event.
For HonCC graduates expecting to be in the commencement ceremony, you must arrive to the Waikiki Shell for the graduation rehearsal by 3:30 pm wearing a cap, gown, and other proper attire. Doors open to the public at 5:15, and tickets are not required to enter. Graduates are allowed an unlimited amount of guests. Diplomas can be picked up at the Records Office ten weeks after commencement.
