2019 Hawai‘i Foodbank annual food drive

The Annual State Employees Food Drive, created and run by the Hawaii Foodbank, has begun and will run through May 17, 2019.

Although many campuses have formed their own student food banks, employees are still urged to participate in donating in order to support the community through the State Food Drive. UH employees donated almost 7,000 pounds of food and more than $39,000 in cash for the Hawaii Foodbank last year. This year, the UH community looks forward to continuing its support with the Hawaii Foodbank, being one of the largest contributors among all state offices.

The food drive’s goal is to raise 80,000 pounds of food and $150,000. Monetary contributions, canned meats/tuna, canned meals, canned vegetables/fruit, and rice are the main items the Foodbank is asking for.
