Honolulu Community College will once again be participating in the annual Kalihi Business Association Christmas Parade. This year the parade will be held on Friday, Nov. 27, the day after Thanksgiving. Everyone in the HCC community is welcome to join the festivities – and to bring along family and friends.
Parade organizers count on HCC’s help each year to guide the candy trolley, keep the keiki safe and ensure that the parade watchers maintain a safe distance along the route. We also distribute candy to onlookers on the left side of the street, sometimes help decorate the vehicles as well. We also provide the personality for Kip, the KBA wallaby mascot.
The parade starts at 6:30 p.m. at Kalihi Union Church, 2214 N. King St., but the HCC group will gather about 5:45 to coordinate roles and line up.
This is HCC’s opportunity to represent our campus in the surrounding community. This parade is all about the keiki! We are bringing joy to thousands children of Kalihi for whom this is the only parade of the year. HCC has participated in this parade every year and will be there again this year.
