Celestial navigation, poi balls, dancing, poetry and more

HonCC celebrates Our Hōkūle’a: Ambassador to the World on Thursday, March 19 with a full slate of events running from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria.
Here’s the lineup of activity:
9:30 AM     Learn about the ancient art of Star Navigation from HCC’s very own Ka’iulani Murphy.
10:15 AM    Make your very own set of poi balls in our Poi Ball Making workshop
11:00 AM    Get your groove on with a Bollywood Dance Workshop led by  renowned choreographer and dance artist Willow Chang.
11:55 AM     Be dazzled by a performance of Indonesian Music by performer  from the East-West Center
12:45 PM    Celebrate the Poetry of the Earth in a Reading by HCC’s very own Kimo Keaulana and Derek Otsuji.
1:05 PM       Cheer the Winners of HCC’s Caring for Our ‘Āina Poetry Contest and  hear the students read their winning poems           The Winners of our World Geography WIZ Quiz will be announced at the conclusion of the event.All events are free! No pre-registration necessary. Just come in and sign up on the day of the event for as many activities as you wish to join.
