Charlene Gima, a Language Arts assistant professor at HonCC, and Jimpu Kai will give a lecture and demonstration of Kumiwudui, the classical dance-drama of the Ryūkyū Kingdom, at 3 p.m. Sunday Feb. 15 at the Center for Korean Studies Auditorium on the UH-Manoa campus.
The lecture will discuss how tradition is sustained through change with a demonstration of an excerpt from Hanaui no En.
The event is free and open to the public.
