MELE’s Kalikimaka: A Christmas concert

The HonCC MELE program will get the holidays off to a musical start with its “MELE’s Kalikimaka” musical celebration from 4-7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3 the Hale ‘Aina stage in the school cafeteria.
This year’s “MELE’s Kalikimaka” event features holiday music from Christie Brooke and the Arch Angels, John Tussey, Jegaan Singh Faye, Ho’oheno Analipo and DJ Ron Swex≥
There will also be a toy drive in collaboration with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve’s Toys For Tots Program. Bring a new and unwrapped toy donation for raffle tickets to win special music-related prizes. Music-themed toy donations will receive two raffle entries. More toys, more raffle entries!
Special prize giveaways include an ‘ukulele from Good Guys Music & Sound, Blue Note Hawaii concert tickets, Pizza “Dough” gift certificates from J.J. Dolan’s, musical instrument accessories, clothing.
The event is the final project for the MELE 205 Concert & Event Production class. MELE 205 teaches students the fundamentals of creating an event from conception, administration, and final production. Additional audio/media support will be provided by MELE’s MELE 215 Sound Reinforcement and MELE 298M Live Audio for Media classes.
The event is open to all students, faculty, staff and their families & guests.
