Accreditation team welcomed to campus

A team of evaluators from the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior colleges is visiting Honolulu CC this week.
Every five years, the group evaluates all the facets of our school and makes recommendations to be sure we’re operating in the best interest of students.
The purposes of regional accreditation include encouraging institutions to improve academic quality, institutional effectiveness, and, ultimately, student success, according to the group’s website
The commission members are meeting with many different staff, student, and faculty groups this week and will issue a preliminary report of its findings later this year.
On Tuesday, the group was introduced to the school with a traditional Hawaiian welcome.
