Know your (copy)rights

Copyright and academia will be the focus of this week’s presentation in the Honolulu CC library.
Academia
Cory Lenz, from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa Law School Library, will give legal guidance on copyright and discuss the uses that students and faculty can make of copyrighted materials.
Those in attendance will learn the finer points of the Fair Use Doctrine and the Library Exception and will have a clearer sense of how their own uses of copyrighted materials (i.e. course reserves, courses packs, document uploads to course management systems, photocopying) comply with the law.
The session will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21 in the library.
