During 10 Pau Hana Fridays each semester since 2008, campus secretaries, teachers, guards & administrators have assembled tenor ukulele under the direction of Norman Takeya, Guy Fo, Guy Shibayama and a diligent volunteer crew of helpers.
Now, they want to show them off in one place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, April 25 in the temporary library’s gravel lot.
Live music will be provided, and HCC community members are invited to bring their lunch along for the concert.

Three commercials shark tour boats have been damaged by arson in less than three months. The Hawaii shark tours have long been controversial and the recent fires have them back in the news.
Comments on news websites in Hawaii suggest that the boat fires are an inside job. Honolulu Police are investigating the arsons.

Some members of Hawaii’s music community might still be mulling Tia Carrere’s win in the best Hawaiian music album category at the recent Grammy Awards, but others are acquiring the knowledge and skills they need to work as equals with industry pros anywhere in the country.
The Music and Entertainment Learning Experience program at Honolulu Community College is where they’re doing it.
