Honolulu Community College’s library has added two new data bases to its collection to help students research works in their writing courses.
CTE students enrolled in writing courses will benefit particularly from these courses, library officials said.
The data bases are:
- Vocational Studies Complete, which provides comprehensive, full-text publications for vocational programs. It covers topics geared toward career & technical education programs. Source content from magazines, academic journals, and a wide selection of trade publications in all vocational fields and occupations.
- Opposing Viewpoints in Context, the premier online resource covering current social issues, including pro/con viewpoint essays, selected primary source documents, biographies, court case overviews, periodical articles, statistical tables, charts, and graphs, images/podcasts, and more. The data bases were obtained with the help of Language Arts chairman Jeff Stearns, who secured a Perkins grant that provided funding for these e-resources.
